About Find Art Find Joy

I’m Gian Schauer and I love art. It brings me joy and inspires me. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in part, because it is a great art city. We have more 200 galleries, museums and private art dealers just in Santa Fe. There are also many artists showing their works in the surrounding communities like Taos, Madrid and the Native American Pueblos.

I also love to travel and collect art from places like Vietnam, Ecuador, Cuba and Norway. I seek out artists to learn what inspired them to make their art. And I love to champion artists and their work.

But some people find art to be boring, or stuffy, or weird, or expensive. My mission with this blog is to help people become engaged with art and feel confident to bring art into their own homes and workspaces.

I want to help people understand what they are drawn towards and how to find it even if you don’t know what it is yet. You might seem like Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart when pressed to describe pornography, his law clerk said to him, “Mr. Justice, you will know it when you see it.”

Art should be fun. Bringing art into your world should bring you joy. And I want to help guide you along that path. So follow along to find joy in art.
